According to reports, 29 people were injured in Cairo on November 17 during a march designed to honour the 25 people killed on October 9 when Christian protesters clashed with army troops.
The Coptic Christians were marching towards the city's iconic Tahrir Square on Thursday when violence broke out. Stones, glass and Molotov cocktails are believed to have been thrown as missiles.
Riot police were called to the scene and those in the procession quickly dispersed. The majority of injuries were minor, with 24 people reportedly discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for cuts, bruises and fainting spells.
Christians account for around 10% of Egypt’s 80 million-strong population.
